A collaboration beer between Ardbeg and Brewgooder named after Ardbeg’s keen excavating mascot Shortie. This is a smoky porter brewed by William Bros Brewing using peated malt usually reserved for making Ardbeg’s delicious whisky. Expect a rich, peaty porter which we’re sure goes perfectly with a dram of Uigeadail. All profits from this beer are donated to Brewgooder’s clean water charities in Malawi; we’re sure Shortie would approve!
Official Tasting Notes
Nose : On the nose, Ardbeg’s distinctive peat gives rise to more oily notes intermingled with sour cherries, rich coal tar and pine. Ardbeg’s malt then begins to reveal itself, with aromas of toasted nuts and sweet lemon and lime.
Taste : This smoky porter boasts a typically creamy texture, with bitter dark chocolate, malty biscuit, dry espresso coffee and a hint of liquorice.
Finish : A finish that lingers long beyond the can, delicious and distinctively smoky notes guide the palate towards the bitter end.
